 Today Independence day was celebrated in our college. Independence Day is celebrated annually on 15 August as a public holiday in India commemorating the nation's independence from the United Kingdom on 15 August 1947, the day when the provisions of the Indian Independence Act, which transferred legislative sovereignty to the Indian Constituent Assembly, came into effect.

In our college we celebrated educational development day. The birthday of late Chief Minister K Kamaraj on July 15 is celebrated as 'Educational Development Day' since 2007. In 2006, the then Tamil Nadu Government passed an Act in this regard.

 In our college international yoga day was celebrated.This day is very important and has to be celebrated to keep us healthy.our college was also came in newspaper. The International Day of Yoga has been celebrated across the world annually on June 21 since 2015, following its inception in the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice which originated in ancient India. The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his UN address in 2014, had suggested the date of June 21, as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and shares a special significance in many parts of the world.

  Today in our college there was farewell function for our seniors. We the current batch students bid them farewell. The day went very well and we enjoyed a lot.

  Global Wind Day  or  World Wind Day  is a  worldwide event  that is held on  June 15 . It is organised by  WindEurope  and GWEC ( Global Wind Energy Council ).    It is a day when  wind energy  is celebrated, information is exchanged and adults and children find out about wind energy, its power and the possibilities it holds to  change the world . 

 Election awareness event was conducted in our college Avinashi Gounder Mariammal college of education last week.
